Council approved funding that allows residents aged 65 and over to ride Midland-Penetanguishene Transit at no cost. This initiative helps seniors remain active, independent, and connected to community services and events.

I was proud to support the launch of the new Penetanguishene 55+ Centre, funded through the Province's Seniors Active Living Centre program. The centre provides a welcoming space where older adults can participate in programs, activities, and social opportunities.

One of the most significant community projects currently underway is the proposed Multi-Use Recreation Centre at 51 Dunlop Street. Council protected this property for municipal use and approved funding to advance planning for a facility that will serve residents for generations.

Council approved the reconstruction of Martin Valley Park, creating an improved recreational space for residents and families to enjoy. The project reflects our commitment to investing in quality parks and outdoor amenities.

With approval of the Town Dock Secondary Plan and Master Plan, Penetanguishene now has a roadmap for enhancing one of our most important community assets. I look forward to seeing these plans guide future investment and improvements along the waterfront.

Council supported a number of transportation improvements, including the Fuller Avenue and Robert Street traffic signal project and additional traffic calming measures through the Road Safety Initiatives Fund. These projects improve safety for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

As Chair of the Wellbeing and Accessibility Committee, I helped champion the Town's Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, implementation of website accessibility tools, and initiatives that contributed to Penetanguishene's designation as a World Health Organization Age-Friendly Community.

Community events help bring people together. I proudly supported continued municipal investment in events such as Winterama, Bayside Summer Soirée, and other cultural and community celebrations that showcase the best of Penetanguishene.

Protecting Penetanguishene's unique character requires balancing growth with heritage preservation. During this term, Council approved heritage designations, heritage tax rebates, and other initiatives that celebrate and protect our community's history. Council also voted non-concurrence for the proposed telecommunications tower at 17 Poyntz Street, reflecting the importance of preserving the character and cultural significance of our historic downtown.

I supported the approval of the Town's Tree Protection By-law, Tree Compensation Reserve Policy, and environmental initiatives such as Bee City designation, ensuring responsible stewardship of our natural environment.

Council approved several major planning documents that will guide future decision-making, including the Community-Based Strategic Plan (2023-2043), Recreation, Parks and Trails Strategy (2026-2035), Community Improvement Plan, Cycling Strategy, and economic development studies. These plans provide a clear roadmap for Penetanguishene's future.
